There are some pretty special ways to celebrate today Nationally and Internationally. To name a few: The Winter Solstice, National Don't Make Your Bed Day, Look on the Bright Side Day, National Flashlight Day and National Crossword Day but when it comes to food December 21st celebrates with National French Fried Shrimp Day.
So French Fried Shrimp might have thrown you off. But all that means is that the shrimp are deep fried. When we start thinking fried shrimp two things come to our minds. Coconut Shrimp with a yummy sauce and a Shrimp Po Boy made with beer battered shrimp. I know there are many other meals to create with fried shrimp but our stomachs are stuck on these.
Beer Batter is a great choice for many things when frying. My childhood days of fishing with my grandparents in Chokoloskee, FL getting our fresh caught fish and grandma making up some beer batter. There isn't much more I can say except if you haven't had fresh caught, fresh fileted fish beer battered and fried put it on your food bucket list, it is something every one should experience.
We do have a beer batter mix-Just Add Beer...Batter! for you if you like you just add a lager or pale ale to it, dip and fry and you too can celebrate French Fried Shrimp :) We even have a coconut version for our other favorite coconut shrimp.
What's your favorite way sauce to go with your fried shrimp?
